Taltech presented at ETAG Closing Seminar

On 13 November 2025, TalTech representatives from the university’s Power Electronics Group, Sachin Chauhan and Andrii Chub, presented the Shift2DC project at the Closing Seminar of the Estonian Research Council (ETAG) Team Grant PRG1086.

During the event, TalTech researchers highlighted Shift2DC’s mission to advance DC-based, sustainable energy systems across Europe. Their presentation, titled “Shift2DC as a Critical Step Towards Energy Transition,” emphasized the project’s role in enabling more efficient, resilient, and sustainable energy infrastructures.

The seminar – organized by TalTech’s Power Electronics Group – focused on the theme “Future-Proof Power Electronic Systems for Residential Microgrids.” It marked the conclusion of a five-year research journey dedicated to developing advanced DC system components, including next-generation power electronic converters for future buildings. The event brought together researchers and industry experts to discuss cutting-edge developments in power electronics and the evolving needs of residential microgrid systems.

The Shift2DC contribution demonstrated how the project’s innovations align with broader efforts to enable future-ready DC microgrids. As part of Shift2DC, the Power Electronics Group will pilot novel DC technologies in a DC building pilot in France and in a DC data center pilot in Germany, led by senior researcher Andrii Chub.
