On September 25, Shift2DC will join the INESC-ID stand at the 2026 European Researchers’ Night, held in Oeiras at the Jardins do Palácio Marquês de Pombal.
The project will showcase its research alongside the SOLAR MOVE project. Through an interactive activity featuring a custom LEGO replica of the Portuguese Shift2DC Demonstrator installed at the Port of Funchal, the INESC-ID Shift2DC team – Marcelo Braço Forte, Alexandre Bento, Manuel Neto, Luís Fernandes, Duarte Domingues, and Diogo Guerreiro – will present a hands-on model illustrating the real-world technologies currently being deployed at the island’s port.

European Researchers’ Night is a flagship European initiative that brings science to the public through hundreds of free activities taking place simultaneously across Europe on the last Friday of September.
The 2026 edition’s theme is “BRIDGES for Science: Engaging Researchers, Schools, and Citizens for a Sustainable Future in Europe” project, coordinated by ITQB NOVA.
