Shift2DC Living Labs

The Shift2DC Project uses four primary Living Labs to test and validate newly developed Direct Current (DC) equipment and solutions. Focusing on Medium Voltage (MV) and Low Voltage (LV) systems, these Labs serve three main purposes:

  • Evaluating advanced control methodologies and tools.

  • Defining optimal implementation conditions.

  • Consolidating promising solutions and their corresponding business models.

The INESC ID Energy Dream LAB

The INESC ID Energy Dream LAB

The INESC-ID Energy Dream LAB is based at Técnico facilities in Lisbon to support the implementation of Shift2DC Port Demonstrator.
The EDF Living Lab

The EDF Living Lab

The EDF Living Lab in Paris, Saclay, serves as a high-tech testing environment where researchers and industrial partners validate advanced electrical systems under real-world conditions.
The RWTH-PGS Living Lab

The RWTH-PGS Living Lab

Led by RWTH in Aachen, Germany, this Living Lab focuses on higher-voltage infrastructure and system-level integration, using 5kV medium-voltage and low-voltage.
The Tecnalia Living Lab

The Tecnalia Living Lab

Developed at Tecnalia in Spain, this laboratory complements the medium-voltage counterpart at RWTH in Germany.
