Shift2DC and INESC-ID are hosting the 10th Current/OS Plenary in Lisbon

The Shift2DC project and INESC-ID will host the 10th Current/OS Plenary in Lisbon from January 27–30. This four-day event will bring together over 120 experts from 30 countries across North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific to advance the future of Direct Current (DC) at Instituto Superior Técnico Facilities.

As hosts, we are thrilled to welcome the global DC community for intensive technical workshops, keynotes, and strategic discussions on making DC power practical and scalable for the energy transition.

A Strategic Hub for DC Innovation:

The Plenary serves as a platform to share real-world deployments and provide updates on key direct current (DC) initiatives. The event will highlight the latest progress in shaping the next generation of DC architectures.

Key Topics on the Agenda:

  • Building Efficiency: DC applications for HVAC, lighting, elevators, and appliances.
  • High-Power Systems: Solutions for DC and Electric Mobility.
  • Grid Infrastructure: Advancements in Medium Voltage (MVDC).
  • Standardization: Key sessions on Current/OS certification and training.

By hosting this 10th Plenary, Shift2DC and INESC-ID keep committed to supporting Current OS mission to “make DC practical, scalable, and ready for the future of power”.
