On June 3rd and 4th, Shift2DC was part of Current/OS plenary session in Grenoble, France, hosted by the project partner Schneider Electric. The meeting was an opportunity for Current/OS partners from around the globe to join, including members of the Shift2DC consortium, in an enriching two-day program.
At the event, Shift2DC was under discussion at the Marketing Committee workshop which included representatives from Nexans, Tallinn University of Technology (TalTech), DC Systems, and Schneider Electric focusing on the latest outcomes of the Horizon Europe project and how to move forward. During the meeting, partners emphasized how important Shift2DC activities are to the wider participation of communities.
“Current/OS is an associated partner of Shift2DC, with many of our partners involved in the consortium. During the recent Current/OS plenary session, several companies shared their progress on Shift2DC and coordinated efforts in a dedicated meeting. Direct current solutions are playing a major role in the energy transition. DC technology is ready to leave the lab and enter the real world.”, Yannick Neyret President of Current/OS Foundation.
“Shift2DC is essential for paving the way for prosumer DC installations across Europe, bringing innovative solutions to the economic forefront.”, Ahmad Makkieh, EU Direct Current Project Manager at Schneider Electric.
The Current/OS plenary session is dedicated to addressing the energy transition challenge, through two days of intensive activities: workshops, kiosk meetings, roundtables, explorations of pioneering projects with topics ranging from marketing and technical aspects to the certification scheme, fostering deep collaboration and innovative thinking.
The sessions offered invaluable opportunities to connect with leading minds in DC technology, and Shift2DC is thrilled to be part of this endeavor.
Recently, Shift2DC project Coordinator INESC ID has signed an agreement to join as affiliated partner of the Current/OS Foundation, and to actively contribute to the advancement of EU unified standards for the full adoption of DC systems, aiming to establish Current/OS set of rules as a worldwide standard for electrical distribution.
